The economic development interests of the Starkville and Oktibbeha county area are served and promoted by the Greater Starkville Development Partnership, an organization formed in 2001 as a partnership between the Starkville Area Chamber of Commerce, the Oktibbeha County Economic Development Authority and the Starkville Convention and Visitors Bureau. The mission of the GSDP is to build a more prosperous Starkville area by improving conditions which affect the economic well-being of the business community and stimulating the creation and preservation of desirable jobs. This is conducted in harmony with efforts to create and maintain an atmosphere that supports the highest quality lifestyle.

Each of the GSDP's partner organizations does its part to develop the economic growth of Starkville and Oktibbeha county:

Starkville Area Chamber of Commerce
The mission of the COC is to maximize Starkville's existing community resources and to enhance the business environment so that employers can succeed.


Oktibbeha County Economic Development Authority
The mission of OCEDA is to facilitate job creation and retention in Oktibbeha County.


Starkville Convention & Visitors Bureau
The mission of the CVB is to establish, promote and develop tourism in the Starkville area.
