Miss Lashonda P. Rieves, Administrative Assistant

Miss Rieves joined the Starkville Fire Department in October of 1993. Miss Rieves holds a BS degree in Office Administration from Mississippi State University. She holds numerous certifications from Fire Departmental Assistant workshops and NFIRS Data Analysis (National Fire Incident Reporting System)

The Administrative Assistant's Responsibilities
Assistant to the Fire Chief and to provide administrative support to the fire department and assist with purchasing and personnel-related functions. These responsibilities also include completing insurance and fire reports, employee data calendars and files, maintaining departmental records, and assisting with payroll activities.

Fire Marshal Rodger Mann

ICC & NFPA certifications. Rodger Mann joined the Starkville Fire Department in July of 1982 as a firefighter. Fire Marshal Mann worked his way through the ranks of fire suppression and held numerous positions and certifications before being promoted to inspector in 1993. In 1994 Fire Marshall Mann was instrumental in creating the Fire Marshal division with him taking the lead establishing the Fire Investigation Team. In 2003 Fire Marshal Mann was assigned the task of supervision of all responsibilities of the Fire Marshal Division.

Fire Marshal Stein McMullen

Fire Marshal Stein McMullen joined the Starkville Fire Department in November of 1996. Fire Marshal McMullen worked his way through the ranks of fire suppression and held numerous positions and certifications before being promoted to Inspector in 2004.

Fire Marshal Mark S. McCurdy

Fire Marshall Mark S. McCurdy joined the Starkville Fire Department in September of 2003, after Graduating from Mississippi State University with a bachelors’ degree in Business Administration. Fire Marshall McCurdy worked 3 years in Fire Suppression before being promoted to Fire Inspector in 2006. Fire Marshall McCurdy is responsible for MSU Fire Prevention & Safety.

Training Officer Keith Kinard

Training Officer Keith Kinard joined the Starkville Fire Department in August of 1985. Training Officer Kinard worked his way through the ranks of fire suppression and held numerous positions and certifications before being promoted to Training Officer in 2001. Training Officer Kinard is an Associate Instructor for the Mississippi State Fire Academy and a member of numerous fire related associations.
