Locksley Way and Blackjack Road Construction

Locksley Way and Blackjack Road Construction

The Oktibbeha County Board of Supervisors will begin construction on the Locksley Way and Blackjack Road improvement project next week. This work will include construction of bike lanes and sidewalks along Locksley Way and a multi-use path along Blackjack Road. Full roadway overlay and restriping, along Locksley Way, will also be included. This project is funded by FHWA and appropriated through MDOT with a local match.

The safety of the traveling public and construction personnel is paramount so all efforts to create a safe working and traveling environment will be utilized. The traveling public is encouraged to use caution along this corridor for the next several months and to occasionally expect delays, including temporary road closures.

Simmons Erosion Control, of Lake, MS, will perform the work for Oktibbeha County. To report any construction related issues or concerns, please contact Eric Gilbert, Project Manager for Simmons Erosion Control, at 601-480-1482.
