Playground Slide Closure at McKee Park

The McKee Park large spiral slide will be closing effective this afternoon (3/22/19). The slide is broken and cannot be repaired, and now serves as a potentially harmful slide for children to play on. Unfortunately, due to the age of the playground unit, replacement is also not an option. The rest of the McKee Park playground will remain open, it is only the large yellow spiral slide that will be closed. There will be a panel placed at the top of the slide to prevent kids from using it. Due to the high cost of a replacement unit or free-standing slide we will not be able to add a new slide immediately. We will be evaluating all options to try to get a slide element added back to the park eventually. Again, please note the only part of the McKee Park playground impacted is the large spiral slide, all other aspects to the playground are still open.
